Colchester’s community group for early dance, music and performance.

Colchester Historical Dance is a friendly local group who meet every week to learn, practise, and perform dances from different historical time periods. From elegant courtly measures to lively country dances, we enjoy exploring the music, steps and social traditions of the past together.

Based in and around Colchester, we dance at community events, heritage venues, church fairs and festivals across Essex and Suffolk, often accompanied by live early music from our friends and fellow performers.
